Prepare yourselves, Durant, because I just had an absolutely mind-blowing experience at The Magnolia Cafe and you NEED to hear about it. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with a warmth and genuine hospitality that is just SO rare these days. The service wasn't just good; it was spectacular! Every single staff member I encountered was on their A-game – attentive, friendly, and incredibly efficient without ever making you feel rushed. They clearly love what they do, and it totally shines through in their interactions. And the FOOD? Oh. My. Goodness. The food is simply divine. Seriously, every dish that came out of that kitchen looked like a work of art, and tasted even better! You can tell they use the freshest, highest-quality ingredients because every bite was bursting with flavor. Whether you're craving a comforting classic or something a little more adventurous, The Magnolia Cafe delivers on all fronts. I'm still dreaming about their perfectly cook Famers Skillet. If you're in Durant and you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience – fantastic service, incredible food, and an atmosphere that just feels right – you must run, not walk, to The Magnolia Cafe. This place is a true gem, and I'm already counting down the minutes until my next visit. Five stars isn't enough; they deserve ten.
Fantastic food in a small space with awesome service and more than reasonable pricing! The portions are ample and everything is just like mama cooked it. We stopped in for dinner one night and liked it so much that we came back for breakfast the next morning. The fried fish, chicken fried steak, pinto beans, and homemade ranch from the dinner menu are definitely something to write home about. The buttermilk pancakes that you can get all day are some of the best I have had, and I have had A LOT of pancakes in my lifetime. & Don't even get me started on those sinful hand pies. Lord help us when it comes to those! Just an awesome experience all the way around. 10 out of 10 would and will recommend to anyone I know headed to Durant. Last but not least - huge shout-out to Cadence and Nikki who both provided exceptional service! Y'all (and whoever is cooking in that kitchen!) are the real MVP's.
We eat breakfast all over Texas & Oklahoma, but this was the best we have ever eaten! My husband's Jackpot eggs cooked to perfection, breakfast sausage was definitely not a typical patty but the French toast was the part that I can't explain. French toach with cream, cinnamon, vanilla it perfection! I had the Mexican skillet and you just have to try it! Fresh made hashbrowns, fresh squeeze orange juice with a hint of maybe tangerine. Definitely a family ( maybe not related) run perfect size great small business because Chris our server greeted us at the door and felt like a friend before we left. We will definitely be back!
If you stop in Durant, make sure slide in and get some good grub. I treated my friends for brunch, and everything came out hot, fresh, and the service was great. Mary was absolutely fantastic, amazing hospitality! The ole time feels.
Came in for lunch for our first visit—wow, what a great experience! Our waitress was incredibly friendly and helpful, taking the time to go over the specials in detail. Everything sounded so good, it was hard to choose! My wife and I both ended up going with breakfast items—the Okie omelet, and eggs with ham, served with homemade biscuits and gravy. Everything was absolutely delicious! The service was quick, and the food came out hot and fresh. We couldn’t resist trying a fried pie for dessert—great decision! We’ll definitely be back.
Mother’s Day, we knew what to expect. Every restaurant in America would be packed. The strategy for eating at Magnolia Cafe, get there early, before church lets out in the small town of Durant. This strategy was flawed. Every family took mom out for breakfast. The parking lot was overflowing. Little hopes of getting in quickly, but willing to deal with the wait. Surprise, Magnolia Cafe had a couple of booths open. The restaurant was prepared, staffed, organized for the event. The varsity team waitstaff. “They were on their A-game!” There were several specials. The waitress suggested the Chicken Fried Chicken. Sold! Make it two, with green beans and mashed. A side salad for me with Thousand Island. There was almost as much dressing as there was salad. No slackers in the kitchen either. The restaurant was packed, yet our food arrived in minutes. The food is magnificent, small-town diner excellent. The service attentive and friendly. These folks know how to run a restaurant.
Stopped in for a late lunch today and was greeted by the most friendly bunch of servers. A shout out to Amber who was delightful and sweet. We had the Chopped Steak, Liver and Onions, and Club Sandwich. Everything tasted great, service was top notch, and prices so reasonable! Definitely make it a stop if you're passing thru!
Mrs. Mary was so sweet. Our food was delicious. We got so much food for so little.
